Worship at Advent

Join us for worship

Every weekend, we gather for worship Saturday afternoons at five and Sunday mornings at nine thirty. Music on Saturday afternoons is guitar-led and includes many praise songs. Music on Sunday mornings is organ and piano-led and comes primarily from Evangelical Lutheran Worship. Both services use most of the same prayers and readings.

Kids and Worship

Kids are an integral part of our liturgical life. During the school year, younger kids gather for Sunday school at 9:20. Older kids serve as worship leaders by leading prayers and helping distribute communion. We also have children's sermons every Sunday.

This weekend's readings

Advent's readings are drawn from the Revised Common Lectionary, a three-year series of texts used by many of our ecumenical partners. You can find this week's readings here.

why do we do what we do in worship?

Because our liturgy uses ancient language to speak to our contemporary context, all of our services have "traditional" and "contemporary" elements. Some of our prayers and songs go back to the earliest believers while others were written this year or even this week. You can find answers to many common questions about why we worship the way we do here.
