Pastoral Call Process
On April 27, we held a full congregational meeting to vote on the Council’s recommendation to have Rev. Gieun Lee serve Advent as minister of Word and Sacrament according to the Letter of Agreement for Extended Service Pastoral Ministry. She was unanimously approved.
We are blessed to have her as our next pastor, filling our 10 month vacancy. She is a dedicated ordained pastor with over 13 years of ministry experience, deeply committed to fostering inclusive and welcoming communities through compassionate spiritual leadership. She is skilled in serving individuals from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, a commitment strengthened through her service as a military chaplain and as a teacher in urban high schools. Adept at leading worship services, officiating sacraments, and guiding congregational and community engagement initiatives, she is passionate about nurturing faith through education, outreach, and music in worship, aligning with the mission and vision of Advent Lutheran Church.
She will begin her ministry here beginning July 1.
Thank you to the Call Committee, Chair Bill Whitney and members Beth Aquino, Ryan Aquino, Lisa Fabian, Christine Keeler, Barbara Zanetto and to the full Council. Many thanks as well to Rev. Dean Brown, assistant to the Bishop, for being an excellent advisor and to Bishop Tracie Bartholomew for her responsiveness and support.
