Education at Advent

Advent hosts a wide range of opportunities for people of all ages to grow in faith.

Adult education

During the school year, weekly Bible studies are held on Thursday mornings at ten and Sunday mornings after worship. Bible studies are led by the pastor or a member of the congregation.

Pastor Joseph leads studies on topical themes during the year as well. Our study for Lent 2018 is on "Central Things in Word and Sacrament." Previous topics have included "The Lutheran Reformation: Medieval and Modern" (Fall 2017) and "Jesus Through the Centuries" (Advent 2017).

You can find podcast summaries of classes here.

Vacation Bible school

During the school year, Sunday school is offered during worship on Sundays. We also offer activities for kids in the summer to explore the biblical stories and learn about their faith.

Confirmation is a two-year process during which middle school students learn about the Lutheran tradition, the Bible, and the church's mission in the world. We celebrate our confirmands on Pentecost with Affirmation of Baptism.
