Adult education

During the school year, weekly Bible studies are held on Thursday mornings at ten and some Sunday mornings after worship. Bible studies are led by the pastor or a member of the congregation.

Pastor Joseph leads studies on topical themes during the year as well. Previous topics have included Lutheran liturgy (Lent 2018), American religious history (Fall 2019), and Advent hymns (Advent 2022).

Confirmation

Confirmation is a two-year process during which middle school students learn about the Lutheran tradition, the Bible, and the church's mission in the world. We celebrate our confirmands on Pentecost with Affirmation of Baptism.

GODLY PLAY

Starting fall 2022, we will be adding monthly Godly Play sessions to our liturgy schedule on Sunday mornings. These gatherings give children ages 0-12 an opportunity to enter the Biblical story. Godly Play is a curriculum of spiritual practice exploring the mystery of God’s presence in our lives. The Godly Play curriculum engages what is most exciting about religious education: God inviting us into—and pursuing us in the midst of—Scripture and spiritual experience. Godly Play practice teaches us to listen for God and to make authentic and creative responses to God’s call in our lives. You can find more information here or at godlyplayfoundation.org.
